oldies.

so these are some of the diys, crafts, or refashions that i have been working on in the past couple of weeks.  a lot of these were done pretty recently because this is what you dowhen you don't have a summer job, and are staying with your parents... : /  don't get me wrong, i do love my family, but being at home can make me crazy.  enter pinterest and exit my boredom.

lace midi skirt

so this midi skirt was a lace moo moo abomination.  i cut the bodice off, hemmed the waist, and added a belt to make it fit.

polka dotted cami

next came the polka dotted cami!
love the tutu with the cami.

it was a thrifted find originally a size 18.

so i hand sewed two seams on the sides and took it in 8 sizes.

paper pin wheels

so my roommate of three years and i are moving to a new place late this month, so we decided that we needed a new feel to go with our new place.  the walls are already tiffany blue, so we went with a bright aztec color scheme to complement it.

paper pin wheels.

check out the adorable hearts!

chevron shorts

i just love the chevron trend going on right now, so i caved and decided to make some shorts with the detailing on the back pockets.
ignore the clutter!

fyi, that button-down was part of my mom's grade school cheerleading uni.

they were originally jeans, so i trimmed off the legs and rolled the legs twice to get them at the right length.  next i look some acrylic and fabric paint and when to town.  for the glittery stripe i first used the brown and went over it with the glitter.

painted frames

i took some old frames and painted them for our apartment.

neon blazer

i've had this neon blazer for about five years, but it has been a little big so i have yet to wear it.
i found a really cute refashion on cotton and curls HERE so i thought i would give it a shot.

lace tie back.

stuff used.

i hand sewed.

i just love the way it turned out... but almost anything with lace is a yes in my book.

strawberry fields button-down

i went digging in the attic to find some new refashion projects, and found this little number from express.
i love strawberries & this print!
so... they were in fact culottes... eww.  so i cut off the bottom... and voila!  insta-shirt.  i was digging the frayed edge so i decided not to hem it.
hello 1993...
